In this 8-week SMART course, created and clinically evaluated by the Benson-Henry Institute at Massachusetts General Hospital, various meditation practices are introduced, principles of stress warning signals are explored, and strategies are identified to improve coping through achievement of the relaxation response. Course is HSA (Health Savings Account) approved. A workbook valued at $50 will be distributed prior to class.  Anne E. Lynch, is a MA Board Certified Family Nurse Practitioner.  She was an intern with Jon Kabat-Zinn, PhD at the University of Massachusetts Mindfulness-based Stress Reduction Program in 1992, has consistently practiced meditation since then, and became a Benson-Henry Institute at MGH Certified SMART facilitator in 2013.  She established a  program at the Newton-Wellesley Hospital Ambulatory Care Center where she offered mindfulness-based meditation, and more recently, SMART courses for patients living with chronic pain, anxiety, disordered sleep, and gastrointestinal issues.
