First Day Back

First Day Back
Posted on 12/06/2019
Dear LS Staff, Students and Families,

Yesterday was a challenging day as we welcomed students, staff, our families back to the first day of school after Thanksgiving break with news of Ando’s passing on our minds and affecting our emotions. Thank you to Aida Ramos, LS Director of Student Services for coordinating LS and STARS (School Threat Assessment and Response System) staff to assure counseling supports were available through out the day for students and staff across several school venues including classrooms as needed. STARS staff were made available to us today through the Sudbury Police Department.

I also wish to thank you for and acknowledge the condolences and support we have been receiving from community members, LS student and staff alumni, our Lincoln and Sudbury police officers, Lincoln Public Schools, Sudbury Public Schools and many other school districts. Please know the thoughtfulness of these gestures has provided comfort and are very appreciated. We also started our day with an unexpected presence of police officers that came to support us from communities as far as Weymouth and Swampscott to simply stand by if needed.

Services for Ando will take place at Lincoln Sudbury on Saturday, December 14, 2019 at 9:45 am. More details will be forthcoming. Updated information can also be fond on the family’s Caring Bridge page: https://www.caringbridge.org/visit/yoshitakaando
Additonally, here is a link to a fund that has been established to support Ando’s family. https://tinyurl.com/uej4fzz

I extend my gratitude to our students, staff, families, and community members at large for all that you are doing to watch out for and support all of us here at LS at this time,
