Welcome to Quarter 2! (November 2018)

Dear LS Families and Students,

Welcome to the start of second quarter! It is amazing how much has happened already this school year! Here are just a few updates.

I am very excited to announce the LS School Committee, Lincoln Board of Selectmen and Sudbury Board of Selectmen each unanimously approved the use of LS excess and deficiency funds to renovate 420 Lincoln Road (formerly known as the “White House”) to house the LS Academy in time for Fall 2019! This decision was endorsed by the Lincoln Finance Committee, Lincoln Capital Committee, Sudbury Finance Committee, and Sudbury Capital Improvement Advisory Committee. The LS Academy will support students with social and emotional needs currently supported through out-of-district day programs. I appreciate that members of the various boards not only endorsed the proposed financial plan but also made clear they fully embraced our educational goal and intent to expand services to meet student needs within district. Thank you to the towns of Lincoln and Sudbury for this tremendous support.

As of the end of today we have now successfully administered the MetroWest Health, NEASC and Equity Assessment surveys to all students! I extend my appreciation to all of you who took the time to complete the guardian surveys. LS staff will complete the last of the surveys today after school. Your cooperation is much appreciated. We are glad to have their administration behind us and look forward to the information they will provide.

It has been a fairly smooth transition to securing our school through the use of access cards. I thank you again for your cooperation in this endeavor. Thank you for your feedback. We have adjusted student access to start at 6:30 am instead of 7 am.

We have had many student events to celebrate including performance of the Laramie Project on October 12. We have had a record number of students participating in fall athletics. Football continues in post-season on Friday, 7 pm at North Andover, and boys soccer continues post-season tournament play at LS against Acton-Boxborough this evening at 7 pm!
