A simple phone call can brighten someone's day!

As the pandemic continues to persist, senior citizens are growing increasingly lonesome. Because they are at increased risk of severe illness, seniors have been forced to become isolated from their friends and family. To help ease the loneliness that seniors are feeling during this time, high school students can connect with them via phone call, Zoom call, or hand written letters. Want to get involved? First, fill out the brief survey BELOW with your availability, interests, and preferred connection method. Next, you will be matched with a senior citizen, which will be contacted to you via email. Finally, you will have 10-30 minute weekly connections with your partner over a four week session. "Session 4 begins the week of May 10th, and survey responses are due Friday May 7th at midnight. SENIORS: Note that this session extends into senior week (and therefore beyond the last day of class for seniors), but DOES finish before graduation, June 6th."
