Mathematics Department
The Mathematics Department offers a variety of courses including Algebra I, Geometry, Algebra II, Trigonometry/Precalculus, Calculus (both full-year and semester courses) and Statistics (both full-year and semester courses). All courses are offered in varying levels of difficulty(Accelerated Advanced, Advanced, Standard, and Foundations) and are taught at a college preparatory level.
Most incoming ninth graders will be enrolled in one of the following courses:
- Geometry Accelerated Advanced
- Geometry Advanced
- Geometry Standard
- Algebra I Standard
- Algebra/Geometry Year One Foundations
Calculator Recommendations:
Scientific Calculator: TI-30XIIS Scientific Calculator. These tend to run between $10 and $20. The same calculator is used in Science Classes.
Graphing Calculator: Numworks or TI-84 series. The Math Department runs a discounted Numworks group order at the start of each school year. Both calculators are allowed on standarized tests like the SAT, ACT and AP exams.
